Why don't we honour our nature ?

As a person who grew up in South East Asia, I still remember........ when I was kid my parents always told me to drink Curcuma (Curcuma xanthorhizza) or Turmeric (Curcuma longa) juice. They told me these bitter-taste juices would make good-health for me. That's all they said.

This blog is dedicated for any Medicinal Herbs especially Asian-originated herbs.

You can find many Asian-originated herbs on my blog and also please ask me if you have any question by leaving a comment. I'll be glad to answer as long as I can help.

Cheers

Dare to try ??

In this country, Indonesia, lot of loyal users of Jamu (Traditional/herbal medicine). Jamu, means the formulation of medicinal herbs, it may consist of root, barks or leaves. If ones feel not in good health, they drink herbal medicine formulation immediately. This happened since hundred years. For some of us, believe that traditional medicine is better than clinically-proven drugs.

Fanatical users are increasing every single day. For us, there is no problem to drink this very bitter-tasted juice; the most important thing is we feel good effect after drink it. We drink this traditional medicine without the fear of its side effect.

Nowadays, with modern development, we can buy jamu in extracted form then packed in capsules or tablets. This also good for someone that cant help with the bitter of taste.

For me, myself, I still prefer to mix traditional medicine in juice, the bitter the better :) cause I still believe that its good even not clinically-proven yet. The Indonesian First Lady also drinks Jamu. Dare to try ?

A lot of herbal medicines has come in strong in the most recent years the reason being that most well advertised medicines are very expensive. Herbal medicines are good especially since these should be the same medicine that our forefathers used. If Jamu is good then this could probably work well in the Philippines. Thanks for visiting my blog.

yah here in Malaysia also people use jamu especially those experiencing post-pregnancy. I wonder how come our ancestors knew the advantages of these plants

Juliarso said...

@jussi korainen : You'd better try it once, then you will know the taste :)

@arc : I believe our ancestor had empirical experience from their daily life. :)

I'm glad I found your site. It's great to find other options than western medicine and pharmaceuticals. There are so many bad side effects and most people don't even know. The industry is really making a lot of money on drugs that may hurt us. I want to start using herbs but I don't know where to start though. I'll just read your information and maybe come up with what I need. Thanks for putting this knowledge out here for people. God Bless!

Thanks for visiting my blog, I believe you can start from some herbal medicines that have been clinically proven i.e. Curcuma xanthorhizza and Curcuma longa (Turmeric). But before you use that stuff, I suggest you to consult with your doctor and listen to your doctor's opinion. Hope this will help you. :)

Hi Juliarso,
I too am glad I found your blog. May I ask your background? Are you a herbalist?
I'm interested in Indonesian herbs for women, especially the traditional products used to recover from childbirth; and to increase lactation for breastfeeding, etc.
I've read conflicting information about Curcuma xanthorhizza is safe for breastfeeding?
Thank you.
